Spring Updates
Lately the cherry trees have been in bloom and its starting to feel like Spring after the long snowless winter. Me and Dan got down to Kyoto and Osaka for Spring Break (just 3 days) and I bought a waffle maker which also makes hot sandwiches and cute little rose and leaf shapes...and if I buy another hot plate I can make taiyaki (those fish shaped waffles with sweet bean paste inside) Yay!
On another note, looks like I won't be going to grad school just yet. I have my 3 rejection letters in hand. But, that's okay. Me and Dan are free to go anywhere now. We haven't decided where yet, cause we are both slow to make up our minds about anything (we are terribly alike!) but we have set a tentative date for June 2008 for the wedding (but not the location). I wanted to have it when it is warm and that will give us a few months to get everything together after we move home in August this year.
Meanwhile I have become the mother of 20! My goldfish are 2 different species....an orange straight comet, and a calico telescope eye fantail. I have had them since I moved to Oshima almost 3 years ago. Then suddenly my calico lays eggs, which I thought nothing would come of (after moving them to a bigger and heated tank) but then we found little babies swimming around! So Dan scooped them all out with a net and a ramen spoon (a deep ceramic spoon used for eating ramen noodles and broth) and they are getting moved to their own bowl to grow up. Wonder what they'll look like!
