Weekend on Sado
This weekend the musical cast (at least most of us) got up at ungodly hours of the morning to get on a ferry (or 2 different ferries on opposing sides of Niigata) and head to the island of convicts, goldmines, and world famous taiko drummer's villages to rehearse. Jo joined me as well and it was all good times. Got lots of pics for the future cast and crew pics board to be displayed at shows...but will shoot many many more the weekend after next at Murakami when we have Thanksgiving dinner.
The best parts of the weekend....Sado is friggin beautiful, we had frenchtoast for breakfast...I slept alot more then I managed at last years rehersal, the vultures got our dance and our friggin costumes squared away! The worst part....it was cold....people were not all feeling so great the next day after the curry party...the cuddliest part......6 people shoved in a tiny car ...much thanks to Tam who drove us back to Ogi port even when her glasses got stepped on....Meg, Mara, and Christian in the back with bags and a guitar, with Jo in my lap in the front with Tam, now you may say this is dangerous....but I say that car was so packed that not only could know one fly out of it, that it was so pressurized it would probably just about bounce off of anything. And at least it was warm! After we got back, me and Meg introduced Jo and Mara to the wonderful world of Gusto restaurant for some eats before calling it a night.
So for those of you around Joetsu on Thursday...curry party in celebration of "I finished painting lotuses on the ceiling lets eat curry" which includes "and by the way, Meg is making Chai tea" which could also include "(add you name here) is bringing some home made Nan bread cause they rock!"
So come over around 7 and bring a mango.
